Below are the membership categories offered by the Madhya Pradesh Orthopaedic Association, along with a description of who the category is open to depending on where you are in your career or association with the BOA. Home Fellow
Orthopaedic consultants in a substantive post. Must be resident in the UK and Ireland, and on the Specialist Register for T&O Surgery on the GMC or the IMC.
Home Member
Orthopaedic consultants in a locum or temporary post.
Post CCT – Y1 to Y3
Those who have been awarded a CCT and have not yet been appointed to a substantive post. Post CCT membership runs by progression per year between grades Y1 to Y3.
SAS Surgeon – Y5 to Y16 plus
Specialty Doctors, Staff Grades and Associate Specialists. You must have completed at least four years of post-graduate training and one year experience in T&O. SAS membership runs by progression per year between grades Y5 up to Y16+.
Home Associate – CT1 to ST8
Orthopaedic trainees in full time Core Training or Specialty Training in the UK and Ireland.
Home Associate – CT1 to ST8 (Part Time)
Orthopaedic trainees in part time Core Training or Specialty Training in the UK and Ireland. We consider part time hours to be three days or less during a working week.
Foundation Year Doctor – Y1 to Y2
Post graduate doctors in their foundation years, who have an interest in trauma and orthopaedic surgery.
Medical Student – Y1 to Y6
Undergraduate medical students, who have an interest in trauma and orthopaedic surgery.
Affiliate
Medically and non-medically qualified members of professions allied to orthopaedic surgery. Individuals trained or training in T&O Surgery are not eligible to apply under this category
Affiliate with BJJ
As above with the additional subscription to the Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ)
Overseas Fellow
Orthopaedic surgeons resident outside the UK and Ireland, and established as consultants or specialists.
Overseas Associate
Orthopaedic trainees who are in International training posts outside UK and Ireland.
