Late Dr. B.B. Ohri

Dr. B. B. Ohri Oration was started in the year 1986 to pay regards to Prof. Brindaban Ohri, the senior most surgeon of state. He belongs to the era when a Gen surgeon used to do the orthopaedic surgery, as he was basically a gen surgeon. Dr. Ohri was born in 1909 and did his MBBS from King Edward Medical School in 1931 and his MS ( Surgery) in 1936. In 1938 he was appointed Head of dept. of Surgery, KEM college. In 1946 he got his FRCS from Edinburgh. He was appointed as chief Medical Officer Central India., He has the credit of first internal fixation of bone in the state. He was Prof. 13 HOD Surgery in MGM Medical college Indore. He has founded the cancer society in M.P in 1948 and was nearly full time secretary. He was appointed Dean, MGM Medical College, Indore in 1966 and retired in 1967.He is no more with us, but we live with his dynamic memories.
